Home to Singapore's historic harbour, Keppel Bay now features some of the country's most luxurious properties.

The southern coast of Singapore is in the midst of a dramatic transformation. Looking at it now, you might think the transformation is completed. After all, since the early 13th century, the Republic’s southern marina has come a long way, evolving from a simple waterway and a place to build and repair ships, to becoming one of the most luxurious destinations today.

But there are greater plans to develop this area into a world-class waterfront precinct. The vision: An uninterrupted 30km stretch of waterfront promenade, connecting new residential and commercial districts along the coastline – or what the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) calls “a seamless extension of the city… for new live-work-play opportunities”.

With more than 1,000 hectares of land – or three times the size of Marina Bay – this Greater Southern Waterfront is envisioned to cement Singapore’s growing reputation as a world-class city for its people to live their best lives – with a spectacular view to boot.

The beauty of Keppel Bay

Ask any visitor to Keppel Bay and they will tell you the location is proof of concept for this ambitious evolution. Once simply a home to a harbour named after Captain Henry Keppel who visited it in 1848, Keppel Bay is now a spectacular hub for some of the most sought-after properties and lifestyles in the region.

Standing as a beacon of fine living at the waterfront is the stunning Reflections at Keppel Bay, a Keppel Land condominium whose iconic curved lines mirror the waves of modernity transforming the city coastline. A symphony of six glass towers and 11 villa apartment blocks, the condo houses 1,129 luxury homes, many of which have unrestricted vistas of the sea.

Swing by Keppel Club

Inspired to explore beyond the horizon? Satisfy your wanderlust by heading to the Marina at Keppel Bay, a haven for recreational sailors. Those seeking the freedom of the open sea can either use the 168 yacht berths, or else charter from the Marina’s private fleet. Residents who prefer onshore activities can practise their swing at the nearby Keppel Club, or take a jog at the nearby Labrador Nature Park and Mount Faber Park. The Central Business District (CBD) is just a five minutes’ drive away, and within walking distance is VivoCity, Singapore’s largest shopping mall.

Now that’s beauty – and convenience – you just can’t beat.

A vision of the future

The Greater Southern Waterfront is part of the Singapore Government’s plan to create an alternative location for commercial centres away from the CBD. Apart from Reflections at Keppel Bay and other high-end residential properties which include Caribbean and Corals at Keppel Bay, there is also the 18-storey Keppel Bay Tower, part of the HarbourFront Precinct rejuvenation project to meet the growing demand of businesses relocating to the fringe of the CBD

To allow residents and workers to enjoy the waterfront, a 5km-long promenade was built to connect Keppel Bay, including Keppel Island, to various recreational facilities. Plans are underway to construct a link bridge across King’s Dock to create access to even more amenities, such as MRT stations and shopping malls.

Caribbean at Keppel Bay, a winner of the prestigious FIABICI Prix d’Excellence award at the International Real Estate Federation’s Best of Real Estate Competition, features not only state-of-the-art design, but also the 149-year-old Dock No 2 in its architecture.

Two remaining sites remain slated for future development in Keppel Bay – one on the mainland and another on Keppel Island, where more exclusive properties will be built. When fully developed, it’s estimated that Keppel Bay will yield more than 2,700 world-class waterfront homes.
