Christina Chong may be new to Keppel Land, but she is an experienced hand when it comes to the serviced office industry. As manager of Keppel’s latest upcoming serviced co-office centre, Christina has years of know-how in this industry.

Christina started in this business in 2010. In the last 6 years, she has worked for two established operators and acquired experience in sales and operation management. In June 2016, she joined Keppel’s new serviced co-office business to be part of its pioneer team.

Keppellandlive spoke to Christina to find out more about KLOUD, Keppel’s latest serviced co-office project, and a little about herself:

Thank you for joining us to have a chat about the latest upcoming serviced co-office project, Christina. It must be really exciting to be part of a pioneer team in this new business initiative. Can you share with us, what are some of the benefits of working in a shared workplace?

Thank you for having me. There are many benefits to work in a shared workplace. Users can enjoy flexible lease periods, hassle free set-up and gain access to business support services. Most importantly, they become part of a business community.

Is there a particular reason why Keppel Land wants to embark on this new business initiative?

Keppel Land was one of the first developers to pilot co-working spaces in Singapore with the setting up of Workspace at Keppel Towers in 2015. The objective for this new business initiative is to provide additional product offering to the office market, from single desks to entire floor plates, and from pay-per-use to long leases.

Can you share with us more about your upcoming centre? We know it has not commenced operations but we hope you can let us know what to expect.

Our new serviced co-office centre, KLOUD, will be at Keppel Bay Tower, which is located at Harbourfront Avenue and part of the Harbourfront Office Park.

Its waterfront location differentiates us from the competition operating within the Central Business District. Our centre will be a premium one. The interior design of the centre capitalises on the locational attributes of Keppel Bay as a world-class waterfront precinct, and we are confident we will get tongues wagging with our ‘office apartment’ concept. I will not be surprised if visitors will want to replicate this in their own office.

The new serviced co-office will also occupy an entire floor in Keppel Bay Tower, taking up almost 18,000 square feet.

It will be the first smart serviced co-office centre in Singapore to have its own mobile application, and we will be opening centres in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; and Yangon, Myanmar by the end of 2017.

Book and manage the centre's facilities through KLOUD mobile app.

In the Singapore office, there will be 50 office suites for two people and more, designated work desks and hot desks, yielding about 270 workstations spread all over. But besides these usual products, our users can look out for some pleasant surprises. We have thought of almost everything to cater to their needs. I cannot give everything away but our users will definitely appreciate the conveniences we put at their fingertips, literally.

That sounds amazing. Can’t wait to visit the completed premises. Thank you so much for chatting with us, Christina.

One last question: What about yourself? What kind of office environment do you like to work in?

My pleasure. We spend at least a third of a work day in office. For me, a well designed and equipped office, good views, easy access and enough options for lunch is a must. Better if it is close to a shopping mall because as you can see, I do need my retail therapy. Last but not least, a pantry with good coffee!
