Ever since everybody’s favourite café in Lucky Plaza opened a new branch in Bugis Cube two years ago, fans of the eatery’s famous homemade Yong Tau Fu have not stopped queueing up. You must try their meatballs, which at 60 cents each, is an amazing deal. Order eight for just $4.80! Juicy, succulent, and deep-fried, the meatballs always run out so be sure to get there early.

3.    Asian House

Located in Fortune Centre in Middle Road, this humble eatery boasts some of the tastiest local dishes you can find downtown. For a fraction of what you might pay at a restaurant, diners can choose from some of its most popular lunches, including fried mee sua, seafood mee goreng, tom yum laksa, and sambal fried rice. Pro tip: Order their yummy three-layer milk tea to wash it all down.

You’ll have to look a little harder to find this hidden gem in Bugis Village, but we promise you – it will be worth it. With its iced Thai milk tea selling for only $1.50, a plate of pad thai for $4, and a hearty bowl of tom yum soup for $5, the prices just can’t be beat. The place gets packed pretty quickly for lunch so be sure to head over early to snag a table!

5.     Bak Kut Teh Ipoh Hor Fun

It’s not often you see two of these dishes offered at the same stall – but that’s exactly how this stall at the Albert Centre Market and Food Centre in Queen Street likes to please its neverending crowd of customers.
